Again with the self indulgent designer bit…I bike around, a lot. This windbreaker is light and very airy thanks to the unique venting system via a hidden mesh under-panel on the back, and it also repels water very well. And by ‘it repels water very well’, I mean: I bike a lot in Vancouver, rain or shine, and I have yet to see this jacket become fully saturated. This piece let’s me feel all technical and sporty without looking TOO technical and sporty. Pretty much everything Bruce comes up with is rad. When I saw his Panic print design, I knew it was the perfect addition to my pocket dress idea. This is another pull it on and you are good to go kind of piece. It is as comfy as wearing a tee or a tank, but it’s long enough to wear alone and just the right length to still be paired with tights and a cardigan or hoodie if you want to. The front pockets go into the bottom of a diamond shape that is set into each side. The crew is prepping

It was a mind-blowing experience for us, as this was the first time our riders and filmers had ever shot (or been shot) from a helicopter. We collaborated with Alterna Films which was a great experience. The Alterna boys have a really positive vibe and it was exciting to work with them. To top it off, we had two RED One cameras, capable of shooting 120 fps and up to 4k resolution… (translation: PIMP). We had another 4 or 5 filmers on the ground as well… talk about media overload!

On board for the session were snowboarders and skiers Warren Williams, Matt Margetts, Andrew Jackson, Mike Riddle, Braden Dean, Max Hill and Joe Schuster as well as the Alterna crew: Chris Dufficy, Jesmond Dubeau and Chris Rasman.

Once the Blue team lead by Darren and the Red team lead by Mason were chosen the torch was lit and the games began. The Games ranged from shotgun relays, hatchet toss, GT races, make out competition, to the final Big Air Creek Gap. The games were announced by the one and only Reed Speedman with his side-kick Sean Pettit keeping score. The teams were able to gather points by winning events, or collecting party points by landing or completing any outrageous shenanigans the teams could think of. After all was said and done the 3rd annual Volympics was a huge success with one scary moment involving a snow skate, Brett Barefoot, and rocks, the crew sat down at sushi village to cheers a couple dumbo’s down the hatch to put the best Volympics to an end.
